It is an undebatable topic that regional language is a part of personality building. Regional language turns out to as mother tongue for us in most cases, and learning happens naturally without any professional guidance. As per the reports, individuals excels in critical thinking if they have a grip over their mother tongue.

Since globalisation brought the world together and opened up multiple opportunities, we need to embrace our chances by focusing on languages. A bilingual person has the following advantage: firstly, it helps them communicate with the locals fluently. Secondly, bilingual people are incredible fits to work with and/for a diverse team. Thirdly, they are contributing towards the preservation of the cultural heritage of any traditional language.

The things that we learn during school days is what serves as a foundation in our career development. Hence, if we want to change the status of regional language, then it should be implemented from the lowest levels. Till today, there are schools which focus on English teachings considered it as the main subject. However, other language subjects are optional.

Globalisation is one of the reasons behind the dominating nature of the English language. Therefore, the need to develop an educational system supporting regional or local languages is real. As a result, the focus on preserving local languages increased by encouraging its involvement in global education systems. Schools in different countries took initiatives by introducing multiple selective languages in their curriculum.

The Government of India stepped up to protect the interest of the local language. It introduced the policy of tri language education- the professional English language, the National language Hindi and the state language. This system opens up different opportunities to learn regional languages and preserve their existence. Today, businesses are focusing on multilingual advertisements too.

A survey states that data consumption on video surfing has increased in the past few years, out of which 95% of the searched video was in regional language. To cope with the growing interest in regional languages, it is estimated that multiple openings and opportunities for language experts will come up in the upcoming years.

Therefore, as concluded, regional languages mark our social identity and provide us with a sense of social empowerment, which is why they should be a part of our education system.
